Worthless Things
Psalm 118(119):37
turn my eyes from worthless things
and give me Life through your Word...
-----
stickler for [the] truth
beneath a summer sun-roof
let the stars explode
let the night glow
for tomorrow we go
to the great assembly you know
where wonders too plenty to show
on bended knee only one hand shows
now a lumbar thorn I know
when what’s tangled is trouble
outside the old-fashioned bubble
father, oh so many hearts are hurting
rooftops are burning
and as the smoke rises higher
climbing the twisted spires
regret begets regret
she ain’t see[n] or heard that much yet
Lord have mercy on we
without you only doom
stuck pushing a broom
in a dusty old room
and never making progress
for [the/a] box fan blows
much faster than slow...
-----
BB (87:1)
I ask especially Father that you…
free me from the bondage of self-will
give me knowledge of your-will
and give me (the strength)
and (the power) to carry out your-will
may I do your-will always…
-----
and the dust cloud grows higher yet
this broken broom
I push a pointless doom
in this windowless room
just a box fan and a broom...
-----
Lord, I pray that she too, finds you.
