Something Left
there’s something left
it’s a day-by-day
between my face
and your gentle grace
I purr all night long
and just before dawn
is this the beginning or the end
where it all leads
is a torchlight mystery to read
when there’s nothing left of me
open up this book
and turn to page twenty-three
there’s nothing quite like a crown of sorrows
spin up the dials
gonna take a while
so I wrote this book
for you to read
in your time of need
the years taught me to let it be
to let Love overwhelm
like waves tossing me round’
when I can no longer feel the ground
and Lord now I wish it would rain down
rain down on me…
on the lost and found train now
wave goodbye to me
our last embrace
I’ll always carry with me…
