Lied to Me

thousands lied from me
a few died beside me

assaulter in anger
when grace won’t let her go home

said peter to paul
when you get outta the hospital gimme a call

what’s this mess
what’s this disgraceful place

where one or two
or a psychotic few

shape the view and the story
that the rest of us suffer

do more that a few of us
deserve a swift smack - probably so

but that opinion
isn’t a binding sentence

this land
this land is your land
this land is our land

that’s sometimes quite hard to understand
for the common man
like me…/
