For centuries...
we have searched for meaning
we have built
we have destroyed
we have conquered
we have succumb to man's brutality inspired by fear

but it's in our nature to be propelled by hope
we count our fears at night
praying that they will push us (further) and (faster)
to a utopia we can't quite perceive

we are as much a miracle...
as (dawn) and (it's ways)
as the balance that is our solar system
as the gravity that pulls us toward earth

look for the light
and you will see you are not alone

we are...
an imperfect success
perfectly flawed
and full of compromises

we need one another
we desperately need to belong
we love
we live
we hope
we persevere

aren't we simply...
human.
