Fairy Book

Fairy Book

It’s no fairy book when captain hook takes a close look.

At me we’ll see on land at sea -
a pirate ship
men in chains are whipped
some with lead-tips.

You won’t throw a fit
when you’re the object of attention.

This I know
no theory or show,
no no no.

This I know because from above and below
for two years time
watchful eye - unnamed crime.

Ain’t no joke when the gear, the geeks and the guys -
those spies in the skies
and their pry-bars digitized
breaks in -
sees all my sin
set forth no way to win.

Try to hide, try to lie -
no fucking way - not today!

Best to lay it all out -
the dirty, the shame, the mess,
the past, the pedigree stuff -
lay it all out for them interested eyes
and hopefully
what they see
doesn’t lead to...
I don’t know what.

Lord, where does this lead?
How do I un-do all this mess?
Or is it all for the best?
A bulletproof vest
make the arrest of sin,
stop, stop, stop
[blinking red light]
an autopilot fight.

By day and by night
erosion corrosion implosion explosion -
turn away - turn, turn away.
Turn and face the Lord’s Love and Grace.

When the tank is empty,
when no funds are left,
when no more credit is offered,
and you're shelter-less...
what then - dear one...

Toss a drowning man
a rescue plan
the final gift
that'll split the split rift.

And the hour grew late
reached an inevitable fate
walked back [to/through] the door
I'd left more than a decade before...
to be continued...

"To be wronged is nothing
unless you continue to remember it."
