Blinding Brightness

blinding brightness finds me
that’s why I do this
no foreign language can do this
and yet all tell of heavenly hell
peddling cheap pre-drunk wine
in and out of a daytime dream
forged in a fire that remains unseen
and all but the best like it all squeaky clean
when the forest goes quick quiet
an intoxicating riot takes hold of me
zoom like we do
thru seven zip codes or two
so many wanna be in charge
so few will actually lead
in a mexican boardroom
gave it a little squeeze
the managing partner looked at me
cuz he’s been waitin’ on a squeeze from me
