August So Unlikely

August So Unlikely

August so unlikely
til I quiet down might I think
you know far better than eye
how to Live survive and thrive
among the wet and the wild
how much further is forward
how much longer is back
past catchin up fast
black sails and masts
then again in the end
the time that we spend
(becoming)/(just being) good friends
is quick eclipsed by a deep fatigue
in my elbows and shoulders in my joints and knees
tell me please
is it lyme or fine
disease or fatigue
Love me and leaving me to set (me)/(us both) free
latched and locked
before ever really taking stock
then quickly burned away two decades
the day by day way...
