A Little While Now

A Little While Now

so I’ve been here a little while now
broken down like a child so
innocents should not be sent
to the scene of the crime
it came from the north
a sea black as can be
she winked at you
she smiled at me
I bought a two dollar potion
mixed it with lotion
fell asleep near the ocean
the crashing waves
seemed to speak to me
what is it that the waves say
you know you can go your own way
run down a desert highway
followed the yellow line
realized I was feelin’ just fine
without the whiskey and wine
isn’t it funny
a feelin’ surprised
shifting travelin’ lies
my favorite other
helped me discover
the mess inside
the ego fear anger and pride
and in the end
we took a walk again
mixed together the world’s foes and friends…
around the carousel they spin again and again…
